Among her many growth strategies for the firm, Marie boasts a significant roster of banks & lenders throughout the U.S., training their asset managers on the disposition of thousands of foreclosures, as well as implementing forward-thinking technology & marketing resource shifts towards greater profitability for Modern Realty.

She is an industry leader, inventing ways to garner exposure for her luxury REO properties featured on Today in LA on NBC, and by generously sharing her insights as featured speaker at REOMAC, Five Star Conference, California Assoc of Realtors, and is 2011 Secretary of the CCIM Los Angeles Chapter. On a personal level, Marie is an animal lover and supports No Paws Left Behind.

Vanessa Liddell (Specializing in Short Sale Training & Negotiating)

Short Sale Symposium at SeaVanessa has enjoyed a career of over 35 years in the real estate industry, involving herself in almost every aspect of the real estate business, from title and escrow to training, coaching and educating.

Vanessa’s strengths in helping homeowners, is due to her extensive knowledge and experience in the industry where she has honed her skills in all types of real estate transactions, namely working with buyers, sellers, lenders, agents and more. Her background of detail and process served her clients well as she transitioned from the support industry of title and escrow to the service industry of real estate where she works as an agent for Keller Williams Realty, selling and listing properties, specializing in distressed properties and short sales. Vanessa also directs a team that negotiates short sales for other agents.

In 2006, when the market slowly began to change, Vanessa was approached to help create a short sale processing company. At that time short sales were not even on the bank’s radar and therefore very confusing and many times frustrating. However, even in the infancy of this new market she was able to create, manage and ultimately be involved in the process of hundreds of short sales from all over the country. She also co-authored the first California DRE approved short sale course which was taught to hundreds of California agents during the California Association of Realtors S.W.A.T. programs

From the experience of working with agents struggling to understand their role in the short sale, Vanessa decided to leave her processing company and began teaching agents with a nationally recognized organization. As a former instructor of the CDPE program, Vanessa traveled across the country training more than 7000 agents in the short sale process

Missing her home and family, in 2010, Vanessa left her position with DPI and returned to California. Since then she has dedicated herself to personally educating fellow agents and assisting homeowners in distress. She also has been a featured speaker for many national real estate organizations including the California Association of Realtors (CAR), NAHREP and Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR).

Mike Linkenauger (Short Sale Specialist Network)

He immediately established himself as a top producer in the Jacksonville, FL market, moving into the top 1% of agents his first year in the business. As the Florida housing market became depressed in 2007, Mike took advantage of the situation and quickly learned the short sale business. In no time he amassed an inventory of over 100 short sale listings and quickly established himself as one of the top short sale agents in the State of Florida. As his online presence grew, homeowners from other parts of Florida began contacting him for guidance with a short sale and to be connected with a local short sale agent.

Seeing a need for home owners in hardship to be connected to local short sale experts on a national level, Mike founded The Short Sale Specialist Network in October 2008. 2010 marked a season of growth for the company with the launch of their online short sale agent social networking site as well as the Certified Short Sale Guide training designation. 2012 marked the launch of the Short Sale Mastermind Agent website and marketing program for short sale Realtors. The Short Sale Specialist Network has evolved into an organization of over 12,000 agents, manages a portfolio of over 40 short sale related consumer websites, and has assisted tens of thousands of home owners with a short sale.
